Topic: Esther: A Hero Who Seized Her Divine Moment

Text:         Esther 4:13-16

Introduction

I.        Today as we continue our monthly lessons on Notable Women of the Bible we are going to meet a Queen named Esther.

A.       Esther’s great moment in time came by her seizing it with great passion with little regard for her own well being.

B.       To help us all start out at the same place we need to do two things:

1.       Summarize the historical context for the book of Esther.

2.       Familiarize ourselves with the main characters.

II.       Our goal is for all of us to gain something from the life of Esther.

Text

I.        The Story:

A.       Scene One: The Party [chapter 1].

B.       Scene Two: The Pageant [Chapter 2].

C.      Scene Three: The Plot [Chapter 3].

D.      Scene Four: Her Purpose [chapter 4].

E.       Scene Five: The Petition [Chapter 5].

F.       Scene Six: God’s Plan [Chapters 6-7].

G.      Scene 7: The Prologue.

II.      The Lesson.

A.       The main lesson that screams from the story of Esther is this:

1.       Our God is alive and moving in this world.

2.       His divine plan of redemption and deliverance is unfolding.

3.       And you, like Esther, have been invited to be a part of it.

4.       Yes, God is inviting you to be a part of something that is so much bigger than you.

B.       Understand, captives will be set free.

1.       The brokenhearted will be comforted.

2.       The good news will be preached to the poor.

3.       Bondages will be broken.

4.       Hope will be renewed.

5.       The lost will be found.

6.       His kingdom will advance.

7.       Darkness will give way to the light.

8.       Christ will be presented to the world again.

9.       The victory will be won.

C.      Those things are more than certain.

1.       The only question that remains is if you will be a part of it.

2.       Will you seize your divine moment?

Conclusion

I.        Esther placed her trust in God and stood up for people He did not want to see perish.

II.       What if you knew somewhere in front of you was a moment that would change your life forever, a moment rich with potential, a moment filled with endless possibilities?

III.      What divine moment is God waiting for you to seize?
