Topic: How Will It End?

Text: Revelation 21:3-4

Introduction

I.    How can you guarantee a happy ending to the story of your life?

II.   There’s a concept in the Bible that guarantees a happy ending.

A.   The concept is that of Heaven.

B.   Heaven—a place for God’s people (Revelation 21:3-4).

C.  There are only two possible endings for anyone’s life story.

III.  God has a promise and a guarantee of how you can have a happy ending.

A.   If you know God and His Son, Jesus, you will go to Heaven.

B.   God has given us a desire for Heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

IV.  In order to guarantee a happy ending there are two things you must do.

Text

I.    Solve The Right Problem.

A.   Life is full of problems.

B.   Four things cause most of the problems in the world: sorrow, sickness, suffering and death.

1.   All these things entered the world by the sin of Adam and Eve.

2.   All four are symptoms and the cause of these symptoms is sin.

3.   If you can remove the cause you wont have any symptoms, even death (Romans 6:23; John 8:24).

C.  Either you believe Jesus is who he said he was or you don’t.

D.  Jesus died for our sins so we wouldn’t have to die in our sins.

E.   So the problem we need to fix is the problem of sin.

1.   But how do we fix the sin problem?

2.   Some people try to fix it the wrong way.

3.   So, what is the right way to solve the sin problem?

II.   Jesus Is The Solution To The Problem Of Sin.

A.   Heaven is God’s home.

1.   Just as you do in your home, He decides who gets to come in.

2.   You typically don’t let people into your home that you don’t know.

B.   God has decided to allow His Son, Jesus, to decide who can enter His home and who cannot (John 14:6).

1.   If you don’t know Jesus, you can’t go to Heaven.

2.   If you can’t go to Heaven, the story of you life will not end “Happily Ever After”.

C.  The right person solves the right problem.

1.   Jesus is the right person to solve the problem of Sin in our lives.

2.   The wise accept help with problems they cannot solve on their own.

Conclusion

I.    You will never truly live “Happily Ever After” in this lifetime on Earth.

A.   You were not made for it (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

B.   None of us are where we belong (Hebrews 11:13; 2 Corinthians 5:2).

II.   You were made and created to live in Heaven for the ending of your story.

A.   That is the only place you will live “Happily Ever After”!

1.   So won’t you let Jesus help you get there?

2.   You have likely come to realize that you have a real problem with sin (Isaiah 59:2; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:23).

B.   Let Jesus help you do what you can never do alone.
